Darcmatter ceramics is a ceramics studio founded by
Denise Aimee Rijnen in 2016 in Amsterdam. In 2022 she took a leap of faith with her partner and started on the restoration of an old baita in the Italian alps.    

Out of various research projects in Japan, Switserland and the south of Spain working with raw materials and the ever-changing flux of metamorphosis that they undergo at different speeds of becoming, I became interested in working with clay and becoming an agent of metamorphosis myself.

All items are designed and hand produced on the throwing wheel
by me personally. In my work I would like to pay an hommage to the tactility of rocks, from a smooth polished surface to a grainy rough surface. In most items you can find a contrast between those two.
